In follow up to two recent campus town halls, President Rodgers sent a message to the UPEI community outlining the themes that emerged from the events.

Ten UPEI students learned about the distinctions and commonalities among Indigenous peoples worldwide by comparing their language and knowledge with that of the M膩ori people during the Maymester course, 鈥淕lobal Indigenous Language and Cultural Ways of Knowing,鈥 which took place at UPEI and in New Zealand from May 6 to June 13.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at UPEI is proud to announce that Dr. Darcy Shaw, professor emeritus, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, is the recipient of the prestigious Distinguished Member Award awarded by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA).

The University of Prince Edward Island is proud to announce that Shannon Gillis-Atkins will be the first Panther rugby representative to be inducted into the UPEI Sports Hall of Fame. This prestigious honour recognizes Gillis-Atkins for her outstanding contributions to the sport during her time from 1992鈥2015.

After 25 seasons with the UPEI Panthers, men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 soccer coach Lewis Page is set to begin a new chapter with the Halifax Tides FC. The soccer team is a founding club in the Northern Super League, which is committed to excellence in women鈥檚 professional soccer in Canada.
